Curtis Atkinson, 84, Pine Village, a retired farmer, died 11:50 p. m. April 27, 1976 at Community Hospital, where he had been a patient 12 hours. He had been a patient at the Edgewood View Nursing Home, Oxford. He was born in Oxford, May 1892, the son of Julian Z. and Lena Cook Atkinson. He had lived in Benton County and Rainsville before moving to Pine Village 26 years ago. In 1918 he married Ethel Mae Sanders, who survives. Other survivors are a brother, Jay, LaPorte, and a niece, Mrs. Shirley Jones, Elwood, Ill. He was a member of the Pine Village United Methodist Church, Pine Village Lodge 315 F&AM, a veteran of WW 1, and a 56-year member of the American Legion Post 259, Williamsport. Funeral services at the Pine Village Methodist Church. Burial in Justus Cemetery at Oxford with Fisher Funeral Home in charge. Memorial contributions may be made to the building fund of Lodge 315 F&AM.
